Strengthening Healthcare Infrastructure
The district hospital in Balotra, Rajasthan, and the Primary Health Center in Ajiwali, Raigad, Maharashtra, faced challenges due to outdated infrastructure, inadequate sanitation, and limited facilities. These issues hindered their capacity to effectively serve the growing number of patients in the communities.
With financial sponsorship from ReSL’s IWM business entity in Balotra and MWML business unit in Mumbai, we undertook the renovation of these health centers including the following:
- Structural repairs and facility upgrades
- Provision of sanitation facilities
- Creation of patient-friendly spaces
- Strengthening of water and basic infrastructure
The renovation efforts have resulted in improved healthcare facilities for over 10,000 patients each year, in both locations. Additionally, doctors and healthcare workers now have a better work environment that supports improved service delivery
Ultimately, this initiative in transforming run down healthcare facilities into hygienic spaces can strengthen communities’ trust in the healthcare system and improve long term community health
