Lubricant
Oil Management
Re Sustainability and Indian Oil Corporation Limited have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to launch India’s first structured national initiative for the collection and recycling of used lubricating oil, marking a significant milestone in India’s transition towards a circular, resource-efficient lubricant economy.
The collaboration establishes a dedicated Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to build a nationwide collection and reverse logistics ecosystem for used lubricants, with advanced Re-Refined Base Oil (RRBO) refining infrastructure to produce Group I and Group II+ base oils from recovered lubricants.
With a targeted annual collection of 100 KTA and a re-refining facility of 50 to 100 KTA capacity targeted for commissioning within three years, this partnership is purpose-built to formalise and scale used oil recovery in India, reduce dependence on virgin crude-derived base oils, and strengthen the country’s circular economy infrastructure at scale.
Robotics and
Automation Treatment
Re Sustainability and Janyu Technologies have entered into a strategic partnership to advance safer, smarter, and technology-driven waste management operations across India.
The collaboration brings together Re Sustainability’s three decades of leadership in integrated waste management with Janyu Technologies’ deep-tech, robotics-led solutions, creating a powerful foundation to enhance safety, efficiency, and intelligence across regulated waste management operations.
Together, the partnership deploys remotely operated robotic systems for high-risk environments including sludge removal, hazardous waste handling, and confined-space cleaning, significantly reducing human exposure while improving operational efficiency, consistency, and traceability.
Purpose-built for India’s rapidly evolving waste management sector, this collaboration delivers scalable, safety-first, and cost-efficient solutions aligned with India’s sustainability and circular economy objectives.
Chemical
Engineering
Re Sustainability and Recycling Private Limited (ReSRL) and Aarti Circularity Limited (ACL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Aarti Industries Limited, have established a first-of-its-kind Joint Venture in India to develop Plastic Materials Recycling Facilities (PMRFs) across the country, revolutionising plastic resource recovery and sustainable materials management.
With an initial investment of ₹100 crores for the first facility in Hyderabad, the JVCo will focus on segregating, extracting, and recycling resources from diverse waste streams to produce Advanced Circular Materials (ACM) for use as raw materials, fuels, or recycled polymer feedstock. The partnership targets a minimum resource recovery capacity of 500 tonnes per day by 2030 and a projected turnover of ₹5,000 crores over the next five years.
The inaugural PMRF is targeted for operationalisation within 15 to 18 months, setting new benchmarks in India’s recycling and waste management sector while advancing the country’s transition toward a circular, resource-efficient economy.
Plastics
Circularity Initiative
Re Sustainability and Sharrp Ventures, the investment office of the Harsh Mariwala family, have joined hands to launch a pioneering Plastics Circularity Initiative across Hyderabad, Telangana and Raipur, Chhattisgarh, with Marico Innovation Foundation as knowledge partner.
The initiative is designed to capture and process 32,000 tonnes of plastic waste annually, reduce 15,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions, and produce over 9,000 tonnes of superior recycled polymers each year for the FMCG and industrial sectors. Over five years, the initiative aims to scale into a nationwide recycled polymers enterprise achieving near 100% diversion of dry waste from landfills.
Facilities in both cities will be equipped with advanced technologies including AI-driven optical sorting, 100% digital end-to-end traceability, and indigenous innovations across the plastics waste value chain. Beyond environmental impact, the initiative will generate direct employment for over 370 people in its first phase, with 75% targeted as women, and indirect livelihoods for 2,000 people.
