Environmental Site Assessment (Phase I & Phase II)
Every successful remediation begins with a thorough understanding of the site. Re’s Environmental Site Assessment service covers both Phase I and Phase II investigations — from historical land use reviews and site walkover surveys to physical soil and groundwater sampling, laboratory analysis, and contamination risk profiling. Our NABL-accredited laboratories ensure that assessment data is accurate, defensible, and accepted by regulatory authorities, giving clients a clear picture of contamination extent, pollutant types, and associated risks before any remediation work begins.
Soil Remediation
Re delivers targeted soil remediation solutions for a wide range of contaminants — including heavy metals, hydrocarbons, chlorinated solvents, persistent organic pollutants, and mixed industrial residues. Treatment strategies are selected based on site-specific data and may include soil excavation and off-site treatment, in-situ bioremediation, soil washing, chemical oxidation, thermal desorption, or stabilisation and solidification. Every approach is engineered to achieve regulatory soil quality targets within defined project timelines.
Groundwater Remediation
Contaminated groundwater poses long-term risks to communities, ecosystems, and future land use. Re’s groundwater remediation services address a broad spectrum of dissolved-phase and free-phase contaminants through proven technologies including pump-and-treat systems, permeable reactive barriers, in-situ chemical treatment, and monitored natural attenuation. Remediation programmes are supported by ongoing groundwater monitoring networks that track performance and demonstrate progress toward agreed cleanup targets.
Hazardous Waste Excavation and Disposal
Where contaminated soils, sludges, or buried waste require physical removal, Re manages the full excavation, containment, transportation, and disposal process. All hazardous waste is handled in compliance with HWM Rules, 2016 and transported using Re’s authorised fleet to licensed treatment and disposal facilities — including Re’s own network of CHWTSDFs. This integrated capability eliminates the need for multiple contractors and ensures a single, accountable chain of custody from excavation to certified disposal.
Risk-Based Land Management
Not all contaminated sites require complete cleanup to background levels. Re’s risk-based land management service applies internationally recognised risk assessment frameworks to determine the most appropriate and proportionate remediation standard for each site — based on current and intended land use, exposure pathways, and receptor sensitivity. This approach delivers regulatory compliance efficiently, avoiding unnecessary treatment costs while ensuring that residual contamination poses no unacceptable risk to human health or the environment.
Remediation Design and Engineering
Re’s in-house environmental engineers develop detailed remediation designs tailored to each site’s contamination profile, hydrogeology, and end-use objectives. Design outputs include full remediation action plans, treatment specifications, performance monitoring frameworks, and waste management plans — all developed in consultation with regulatory authorities to ensure pre-approval before works commence. Our designs balance technical rigour with practical deliverability, minimising project risk and programme overrun.
Active Remediation Management and Monitoring
Once remediation works are underway, Re provides full on-site project management and real-time environmental monitoring to ensure that treatment performance meets design targets. Our site teams oversee all contractor activities, manage health and safety compliance, and maintain continuous communication with clients and regulators throughout the active remediation phase. Performance data is tracked against agreed metrics, with regular progress reporting provided to all stakeholders.
Validation and Regulatory Closure
Remediation is only complete when it is independently verified and formally accepted by the relevant regulatory authority. Re manages the entire validation process — including confirmation soil and groundwater sampling, independent laboratory analysis, and the preparation of a comprehensive Validation Report for statutory submission. Our team liaises directly with regulators to secure formal sign-off and certified closure, providing clients with the legal certainty and documented evidence needed to remove environmental liability from their balance sheet.
Regulatory Compliance and Consent Management
Re supports clients in navigating the full regulatory landscape associated with contaminated land — from initial notification obligations and remediation consent applications through to ongoing compliance monitoring and final closure certification. Our regulatory specialists maintain working relationships with MoEF&CC, CPCB, State PCBs, and local authorities, ensuring that all permitting, reporting, and submission requirements are met on time and without procedural risk.
