Objective

We are seeking a highly experienced Litigation Specialist to join our in-house legal team in Hyderabad. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation, with prior experience as an advocate and extensive in-house legal expertise. This role involves managing complex legal disputes, providing strategic advice on litigation matters, and leveraging professional networks to ensure efficient case handling. The candidate must hold an LLB degree and demonstrate a proven track record in high-stakes legal environments.

Professional Network

Established contacts with Advocates on Record (AOR) or other advocates on record, particularly for handling matters in appellate courts.

Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in law (LLB) from a recognized university; additional qualifications such as LLM or specialized certifications in litigation would be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end litigation processes, including case assessment, strategy development, drafting pleadings, and representing the company in court proceedings as needed.
  • Provide in-house legal counsel on dispute resolution, risk mitigation, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with external counsel, including Advocates on Record (AOR), to handle matters in higher courts such as the Supreme Court or High Courts.
  • Conduct legal research, analyse case precedents, and prepare reports on ongoing litigations.
  • Negotiate settlements, mediate disputes, and advise on alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
  • Maintain and utilize a strong network of legal contacts, including AORs and other advocates, to facilitate smooth case progression.
  • Ensure all litigation activities align with company policies, ethical standards, and timelines.
  • Mentor junior legal staff and contribute to the development of internal legal strategies.

Required Skills / Qualifications

  • Expertise in Indian legal frameworks, including CPC, CrPC, Evidence Act, and relevant commercial laws.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
