Objective
We are seeking a highly experienced Litigation Specialist to join our in-house legal team in Hyderabad. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation, with prior experience as an advocate and extensive in-house legal expertise. This role involves managing complex legal disputes, providing strategic advice on litigation matters, and leveraging professional networks to ensure efficient case handling. The candidate must hold an LLB degree and demonstrate a proven track record in high-stakes legal environments.
Professional Network
Established contacts with Advocates on Record (AOR) or other advocates on record, particularly for handling matters in appellate courts.
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Compliance
- Ensure compliance with national and local safety regulations, and Biomedical Waste Management Rules.
- Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines within the facility.
- Support corporate team in establishing and updating HSE policy and safety objectives.
- Maintain documentation related to safety audits, inspections, incidents, near-misses and statutory compliance.
2. Risk Assessment & Hazard Identification
- Conduct risk assessments and hazard identification for operations involving:
- Industrial hazardous waste
- Biomedical waste handling
- Waste transportation
- Incineration/autoclave operations
- Chemical handling and storage
- Identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions and implement corrective measures.
- Develop Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Safe Work Procedures (SWP).
- Ensure proper segregation, storage, and labelling of biomedical waste.
- Monitor PPE usage and safety compliance among workers.
3. Workplace Inspection & Monitoring
- Perform routine safety inspections of:
- Waste handling areas
- Storage facilities
- Treatment units (incinerators, shredders, autoclaves)
- Machinery and equipment
- Fire safety systems ( Fire alarm, hydrant, extinguishers etc., )
4. Incident & Accident Investigation
- Investigate accidents, injuries, spills, and near-miss incidents.
- Identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Prepare incident investigation reports and maintain records.
5. Training & Safety Awareness
- Conduct safety training programs and toolbox talks for employees on:
- Onsite emergency Plan
- Safe handling of Industrial hazardous waste & Biomedical waste
- Infection control
- Fire safety and emergency response
- PPE usage
- Chemical safety
- Organize mock drills & Fire drills for emergencies such as fire, chemical spills, or exposure incidents.
6. Emergency Preparedness & Fire Safety
- Maintain fire safety equipment such as extinguishers, hydrants, alarms, and emergency exits.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans.
- Coordinate with local emergency services and regulatory authorities.
7. Safety Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain records such as:
- Safety inspection reports
- Incident reports
- Training records
- PPE distribution records
- Safety audit reports
- Prepare monthly safety performance reports for management.

Required Skills / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science / Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
- Professional certification in HSE, Industrial Safety, or Fire & Safety Management Systems.
- 7–12 of experience in Chemical, Pharmaceutical and Engineering.
