Objective

To oversee and manage end-to-end Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) operations at the project site, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, company HSE policies, and industry best practices, while driving a strong safety culture and supporting incident-free project execution.

Qualification

B.E. / B.Tech in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline

Key Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for site HSE operations and implementation of safety & environmental systems

  • Evaluate site practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risks and legal compliance

  • Develop, implement, and monitor HSE plans, procedures, and guidelines as per statutory and company requirements

  • Conduct safety trainings, toolbox talks, mock drills, and awareness programs for employees and contractors

  • Monitor compliance through regular site inspections, audits, and safety observations

  • Inspect equipment, machinery, and work practices to identify and eliminate unsafe conditions

  • Conduct accident/incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions

  • Support Top Management on HSE policy matters, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Ensure timely updates of HSE systems in line with changes in legislation and company directives

  • Promote safe work practices and ensure proper usage of PPE across the site

  • Conduct internal and external HSE audits and support regulatory inspections

Experience and Qualification

  • 6–10 years of experience in HSE / Safety operations at project or plant sites
  • Mandatory exposure to Chemical, Process, Wastewater, or Hazardous Waste industries
  • Proven experience in risk assessment, safety audits, incident investigation, and statutory compliance
  • Experience in managing contractor safety and site-wide HSE implementation
  • Strong coordination skills with project teams, contractors, and regulatory authorities
  • B.E. / B.Tech in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline

  • Diploma in Industrial Safety / NEBOSH IGC / IOSH or equivalent HSE certification (mandatory or preferred)

  • Working knowledge of Factories Act, OSHA, CPCB/SPCB norms, EPA, and relevant HSE legislation
